probably old news for people but..
source: avarecordings.com
i don't know how this will change things, or affect on my position at ava. but i've been feeling for months now that i have no space in ava. mostly because i've been so inactive with music lately. the new remixes on tricky waters / winter leaves were completed like 3 months ago already and they wanted to sign them, but i never heard from them after that.

that's not possible, rights are with ava. i guess i'll just have to polish them more and keep offering every now and then maybe someday they actually put them for release. and who knows maybe ava will actually start to function now under armada, and not keep 4 month breaks and then suddently release 3 tracks all at once.

Finally I registered... But, I don't think this was a good change. Yes, Armada is big and things _may_ get easier for AVA but not for the ppl who are signed by them. Anssi may be right that they could have breaks and so on, but to me this smells like that another competitor has been bought out. On the other hand, AVA may just continue functioning as usual. More tracks to release under Armada collections... Btw, does labels pay for the producer as much from these re-releases as they pay from the original ones?

i don't know really, i would guess most of the time it goes under the old contract, meaning same royalties as with the original mixes. but i guess at times there'll be a new contract too.
