the radio isn't 100% launched yet, but nevertheless the site and forum is up now. there are still few adjustments to be made in the main page, and the entire info page is still unfinished. the special shows and broadcasts will start soon (ask sointu, i don't know anything about them). for all the info about the upcoming shows, dates, times and tracklists, you'll find in this forum (naturally also from the main page news) The forum's calendar feature will also be used to post upcoming shows and dates. the calendar can be found in the forum's upper menu, or straight url: radiocluster.proboards84.com/index.cgi?action=calendari think i covered all needed areas with the forum sections, but if anyone has any suggestions or improvement ideas, shoot.. as a small bonus, the forum has a hidden area which you can only access after certain amount of posts.. so let's get the shit started!

software mixing is kinda cheating so i don't know yet, we'll see Let's argue! Well no. I've had enough of it with Anssi in the past. You gotta still admit that digital deejaying is going to be the thing in the near future. For example I was going to buy a pair of decks but now I'm thinking of getting mixer with good software support and pair of some controllers. Maybe something like EKS's XP-series is. Another possible way is to buy a pair of CDJ's and some time coded cd-package. Who knows what happens but I'm going to get my hands on a full setup soon. Maybe before next summer, just when I've finished my service first. I have nice touch in my opinion to couple of softwares already but need some more control over 'em to get the edge, you know. Keyboard+mouse (borrowed midi-controller now and then) is pretty versatile but not enough to get to the end. Now, duty calls - see you guys!

hehe well that's not really what i meant digital deejaying is the future or even the present. and i think it's alright as long as you really do something and not let the machine mix for you, and have as much junk in front of you when you're performing what i meant with digital deejaying being cheating is mixing tracks with ableton and just warp the beats and press a button and it matches 100%. or mixing with virtual dj or traktor and no mouse. plus them having all the autosync features you could never be sure if someone is mixing for real or not. with live performance it's even trickier. nobody wants to watch someone who looks like he is surfing the internet while the music plays. even if you have a midi controller (trigger finger for instance) + ableton, it still looks very boring and uninteresting. even when comparing to just mixing with cdjs.

I claim that it's not even possible to deejay as creativly as you could deejay without computer doing the sync and fadings. And it is, of course like cheating yourself. I can't say much about live act's because I haven't done any of my own. Yet, I can say the pure deejaying with controller+laptop isn't boring and shouldn't be from the viewers point too. Well of course it needs at least the external mixer, which also helps the DJ control his/her performance more versatile. I've thought of getting the Korg Zero4, pair of CDJ1000's or EKS XP's added together with my laptop. Then the only thing done by mouse would be choosing the right song. Shouldn't be that boring when deejayed live someday, or?

Yet, I can say the pure deejaying with controller+laptop isn't boring and shouldn't be from the viewers point too. ofcourse it's not boring for you, i mean just mixing with mouse isn't boring for the person who is doing it. but unfortunetly it is boring for the viewers. forums are full of people bashing pvd, deadmau5 and others for their live sets, cause it looks so boring, even though they are using equipment like that zero4, or this m-audio controller..

I don't really see the big difference between CDJ's and CDJ-a-like controller. Is it boring to watch too? And in my opinion a lot more than by the gear itself, the quality of the performance depends on the player - the music he plays, how he is making contact with the audience from the stage.
