the ring was intense when i saw it for the first time... i was on a theater's night show, about 2-3 am, was creapy as hell nowadays it does nothing for me, it's almost more funny than scary. all the parody movies and other comedy stuff just killed it

watched batman begins again and then finally saw dark knight.
batman begins: i think this was much better than i recalled. it was still a tad too long and moving really slowly on places. there were couple of things i disliked and the main villain wasn't really that interesting. still a good movie to set the ground for dark knight.
7.5/10
dark knight
i'm personally a big fan of tim burton, so naturally i'm a fan of his two batmans (batman and batman returns). there were some crazy and even unlogical/unrealistic stuff in his films, but it kinda fits the movies. with all the over the top acting and very theatrical overall feel. what i loved most about them was the atmosphere. the two burton films are just beautiful to watch and the score is magnificent. expecially in batman returns. batman returns is possibly 5 times dumber than the first batman but the atmosphere is just so beautiful and intense it makes up for it and manages to be as good of a movie. they may not be the most realistic and serious movies, but atleast they seperate from other action movies with their own style and tone.
these two nolan's batmans are nothing like them. that's why i can't really compare them, and don't even want to pick my favourite. both are kinda dark, but nolan's batmans drop all that surreal theatrical style and focus on being as realistic as they can be. and that's exactly what they are, like any other action film, but with superheroes and villains, and a damn good script.
"dark knight" is as long as "begins", but the pace is much faster and there aren't that many boring parts in it. the movie doesn't look that cartoon-style anymore, but it's still considered a homage to the old batman comics, cause the way it handles the plot and characters. the script is very interesting and the acting is just superb through out the movie.
after watching begins first, on the middle of this film you truly realize that this series is just epic! one thing i love about these two films is the character development, and the way it makes these two films come together is just excellent. something they used to do with epic adventure/action movies and trilogies (star wars), but don't do much anymore.
at the end i must say this was probably the best action movie of the last 5-8 years, and will probably be even better when i watch it again with more thought.
but in the end, that's all it is, an action movie with a good script. i think the imdb rating is just a big joke, atm this movie is ranked #1 on imdb. and by reading imdb forums, it seems the rating can't be taken too seriously, since apperantly there are a lot of batman fanboys who have been voting this 10/10 and and have been giving 1/10s to all the other movies in the top10 (such as the godfather).
this movie is no means the best movie ever made. even the same director has a movie that's better (memento). dark knight wasn't groundbreaking, it didn't have any twists, it didn't touch me emotionally or made me think. it offered me +2 hours of good entertainment and after that i was back to normal. i've watched movies that have made me think of the movie for the next couple of weeks. and some movies that have even made me wanna change my life. now that's what i call an amazing movie.
the hype for this movie has just gone out of hands, and i'm pretty sure the imdb rating will drop 1 to 2 rates over the years when all the hype wears out and the teenagers grow up and rewatch the movie.
still after all this, i gotta say that was one great action movie. 8.5/10

raiders of the lost ark (1981)
this was unfortunetly a bit of a disappointment , i recalled this being so much better. i remember i loved the indy films when i saw them as a kid. but for my taste this film hasn't aged very well. all that supernatural religious thing was just a bit too much for me, and the movie was quite corny and unrealistic in many parts. a plane's cockpit glass gets jammed, and the solution to open it is to shoot it, wtf.. + atleast 50 similar goofs. other than all the religious god stuff, the plot was pretty enjoyable. and i'll give the movie the props for being the first in the genre and introducing lot of stuff that future movies then copied. unfortunetly with all the little unrealistic stuff in the movie i just cant' enjoy this like i did as a kid... 6,5/10

finally watched semi-pro yesterday! i don't know if it was because i expected it to suck (based on flinck's and imdb comments) or what, but i really liked the movie! lots of funny stuff in it, will farrell was still great even though he wasn't being as much of a jackass as he normally is. the movie wasn't as good as "talladega nights or oldskool though, but it was about the same level with "blades of glory".. a solid 7/10.

Now I watchd that Superbad, pretty nice fooling around comedy. Fun to watch when they fuck up everything . That police squad was cool and funny. I waited a lot more from this one, but don't get me wrong it wasn't bad. Quite basic turn-ur-brains-off comedy. 8/10

That police squad was cool and funny seth rogen baby! he's fucking hilarious he's back to doing standup aswell, hope some of that gets filmed. i think there's just something about superbad that makes it so much better than your usual american pie comedies. the way it's done is kinda sophisticated way of doing completely dumb humour

The Pacifier
Second time I saw it, didn't remember much of it. At least as good as it was last time. Good storyline and funny jokes and I think Vin Diesel is really good choice to this role. 9/10

Go (1999)
what an awesome movie! somehow i've managed not to see this until just now. the movie tells a story around an ecstasy deal, rave party and a wild vegas trip. it tells the same story from three different perspectives. the screenplay is just great, and the whole movie is put together very well. and the soundtrack is just fabulous (score by BT)
highly recommend to check this one out!
8,49/10

oh and also watched "Drop Zone" about a week ago or so. A mindless fun action movie starring wesley snipes with a sky diving theme. Pretty good!
6/10

just a minute ago: Passenger 57 www.imdb.com/title/tt0105104/another good old fashion action movie. basically this reminded me a lot of drop zone i mentioned the post above (also starring wesley snipes), about the same level too. this had potential to be really really good, i mean die hard good, but plot just fell apart. i really love airplane action movies / hijacking movies, so the first half of this was really interesting. but then for some reason they decide to go back to ground for a while which completely lost the excitement. and while they do return back to the plane it only lasts a couple of minutes. still pretty good.. 5.5/10 best movies in this genre (airplane action movies) for me: Executive Decision Airforce One Red Eye (doesn't completely fit the description though) Flightplan Snakes on the Plane Con Air (decent, a bit cheesy but decent) if anyone knows any other airplane action movies / hijacking movies, would be highly appreciated!
